Air Fried Shisshito Peppers

I have fallen in love with my Philips Air Fryer lately. It’s so easy to just put whatever you want to cook in the basket, turn the knob, and wallah, it’s done!

We tried Shishito Peppers at Scrollbar Waterside Kitchen in Redwood Shores. It was so good and it brought us back to the restaurant over and over again. Scrollbar fried them in oil and sprinkle salt over it. Very tasty. Beware that you might bite into one that is flaming hot 🔥! But they are mostly quite mild in terms of spiciness.

It is such an easy side dish that everyone should try it at home. I tried a soy, garlic dressing this time. So good!

  • 1 package (6oz) of shishito peppers, rinsed and drained
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp minced garlic

  1. Toss the peppers with sesame oil in a mixing bowl and arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket. With my air fryer, I need to fry them in two batches.
  2. Set temperature to 390 degrees F and fry for 8 minutes. Remove and shake the basket half way through. Pepper is done when it has blister all over.
  3. Meanwhile, mix lime juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  4. Toss the blistered peppers with the dressing. Garnish with toasted lime slices.. Serve warm.
Arrange in single layer in air fryer
Blistered and dressed. 🤤
