Aperol Spritz

We were at North Italia in Scottsdale. I saw the waiter brought big ballon glass filled with a bright and inviting cocktail to the next table. That surely is a cocktail calling my name. I ordered one. Sparkling, refreshing, sweet, tart, and bitter! It’s everything I like in a cocktail, especially the lingering bitters.

From now on, I have to choose between aperol spritz and margarita when both are on the menu. A better solution, get both 😁.

My take on Aperol spritz and Sicilian meatballs.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz sparkling wine
  • 1.5 oz aperol
  • 1 oz club soda
  • orange slice for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Directions

  1. Fill a large balloon glass with ice cubes.
  2. Add sparkling wine, aperol, and club soda in that order. Top with an orange slice.
  3. Easy as 123.
